Jetlag Learning aims to rethink education by putting a learner's interest at the forefront and engaging students in relevant tasks and meaningful play. We strive to produce materials that foster enthusiasm in students and are recognized by teaching professionals and students as innovative methods that have the potential to take learning to another level.

Derek Luebbe
As creator of simCEO, Derek is passionate about all things learning.
He has taught and been a principal at the elementary, middle, and high school level.
He currently shares his time between simCEO and his current role as a high school principal.
He believes that learning (and even school !) should be fun, and he’s proud to bring simCEO to life with the help of this creative group.
He blogs at DoesItCatchMice? about innovative learning models and methods. Catch him there as well.
A lover of sports, he is reluctantly learning that watching is probably safer now.
Derek is married with three daughters who remind him often of how much he doesn’t know.

Christie McKee
Christie has been involved in simCEO since the very early days. She brings the “get-er-done” attitude to the simCEO team.
Christie’s experience in education covers just about every role imaginable over 30+ years; classroom teacher, administrator, PD Trainer, Director of Online Learning for the California Council of Economic Education, and the Regional Director of Educational Partnerships for Quantum Learning.
Christie also owns DOLE (Designing Online Learning Environments) where she consults with companies who desire to get into the education market.
Christie enjoys using her education and marketing background to use in establishing relationships to help simCEO move forward.

Tate Price
Tate brings a diverse skill set to team SimCEO. Despite his lack of educational experience relative to his peers, his background in coaching, software development and mobile application design gives him a unique perspective in the world of didactic websites. Tate has helped found three companies since his graduation from the University of Colorado and is working towards a Master's Degree at the University of Minnesota in Computer Science and Software Engineering. Tate's hobbies include reading, indoor lacrosse and crafting choreographed dance routines for large groups.
Tim Braun
Tim has spent over 20 years in the education field in one capacity or another. He has taught at the elementary, middle, and high school level, as well as a stint at the University level working with new teachers in California. Tim is a proud member of the ABD fraternity, with a focus on curriculum, literacy, and special education. When he is not championing the education cause, he spends his time working on his short game and maintain his ranking of #1 Euchre player at Jetlag Learning.

Paul Sparks - Director of Learning
Dr. Paul Sparks brings over 30 years of experience in teaching, training, and conducting research in online learning environments. He heads Pepperdine University’s Online Learning Masters Program, and is excited by what simCEO represents as an innovative model and where it can take students. He’s most passionate about seeing how teachers customize it to suit their students’ needs.
Paul’s depth of research experience keeps the team thinking ‘two steps ahead’ in our quest to reach students. Despite being bogged down in academia, Paul reminds us all that “life’s too short to not dance.”

Scott Elliot - Efficacy Testing
Scott is our nuts and bolts practitioner, using his wealth of experience in assessment techniques to help us measure simCEO’s impact on students. Scott’s 30+ years in the efficacy testing of programs and ed tech applications is an asset that helps us keep a focus on practical classroom implementation and student results.
Advisory Team
Mark Orinzio
Mark brings 20 years of executive level business development with education technology companies to the simCEO Advisory Team. He served as the Senior VP of Inspiration Software, Inc. for 16+ years, responsible for generating all company revenue.
Mark currently is the founder of Oronzio Consulting, LLC with focus on domestic and international business development strategies for 23 Education Technology companies from 6 countries.

Jay Atwood
Jay is the High School Educational Technology Coordinator at Singapore American School. a teacher with 20 years of classroom experience. For 15 years, Jay has led teacher professional development as a Google Certified Teacher and Trainer running workshops in Asia, Australia and the US.
Norman Basch
Norman’s 25+ years of experience in interactive games, digital media, education and television are an invaluable asset to both product and business development for simCEO. Earlier, he oversaw business development for BrainPOP, where he established GameUp, a learning games portal encompassing more than 25 publisher partnerships. Prior to that, Normal oversaw business development for the Uproar games portal and ABC’s Internet Group, negotiated major distribution deals involving Oprah, Oscars and other ABC content.
Adam Hall
Adam is the founder Impact Education which he sold to HMH. The company became a part of HMH’s SkillsTutor program where Adam served as President. More recently, Adam was VP of Business Development at Learnosity and he is the current CEO, Nervanix.
Adam shares a genuine desire and commitment to make schools and learning take the next step. He has served three times on the Education Board of Directors for the Software Information Industry Association (SIIA), and is the active Auction co-chair of the Consortium for School Networking (CoSN).
